A BIT OF HISTORY: ‘BACK, BEHIND AND IN FRONT’ MOVIE, 1966

BACK, BEHIND AND IN FRONT
In early 1966, fan magazines, and some media as well, were reporting that the Stones were about to follow the footsteps of the Beatles and the Herman’s Hermits with their own movie. Mick, Keith, Brian, Bill and Charlie were rumoured to be starring in “BACK, BEHIND AND IN FRONT”, which would be co-directed by Andrew Loog Oldham and Allen Klein. Eventually, the AFTERMATH album was planned to be the soundtrack for the film. It was also said at the time that Nicholas Ray, director of ‘Rebel Without A Cause’, was to direct it, but the deal fell through when Mick met Ray and didn’t like him. But then the film never happened.
