Rare TV footage of the Stones arriving to the Dallas airport, plus fans before the show at the Cotton Bowl, July 1975

From Randy Meisner Hearts On Fire:
The Cotton Bowl in Dallas was the third stop for the Eagles on the “Rolling Stones Tour of the Americas ’75” under the big yellow and white tent. Prior to this Dallas show, the Eagles were at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on June 6 and County Stadium in Milwaukee on June 8.

There is a short video below of the Rolling Stones’ airplane arriving in Dallas. The Channel 8 news announcer in the video reports that Keith Richards was driving to Dallas from Memphis instead of flying. The car was stopped by the police for reckless driving, illegal possession of a knife and drugs. Keith and one of the passengers were arrested and detained for several hours. A newspaper article with more details is below.

The Cotton Bowl Stadium is a historic landmark that opened in 1930.

“Officials said numerous fans suffered from the temperatures that rose into the upper 90’s Sunday as the Stones and other groups performed.”

“Richards was released late Saturday night on a $162 bond, police said, and performed Sunday night in a concert in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.”

“As the temperature rose to the upper 90s, free ice was dispensed and two water hoses were turned on to spray overheated viewers.”
