In 1982, Keith was on the verge of making his long-awaited acting debut, but it was never was concluded. He was tentatively set to star in a movie version of the James M. Cain steamer Past All Dishonor, where he was supposed to play a pianist in an 1860s bordello. Patti Hansen co-stared as a prostitute. Eventually Keith was also asked to compose some music for the soundtrack. The movie was not finished for many reasons, one of them being that Keith, as reported, was a real bad actor, but also because of the Stones European tour schedule that year.
