The stable back-beat of the Rolling Stones got his first drum kit in his early teens at a cost of twelve pounds. He studied art, drummed for Alexis Korner’s Blues Incorporated, and worked at an advertising agency before giving it all up to join the Stones in January 1963. He loves sports, collects antique guns, is interested in American Civil War history, has been married to the same woman for nineteen years, wears gorgeous shoes, never gets into trouble, and is one hell of a drummer!
