*’As Time Goes By’, early version of ‘As Tears Go By’
Written by: Jagger/Richard/Oldham
Recorded: De Lane Lea Studios, Kingsway and Olympic Studios, London, England, March-May 1964
Guest musicians: Jim Sullivan (guitar), Eric Ford (guitar)

From Martin Elliott’s book THE ROLLING STONES COMPLETE RECORDING SESSIONS 1962-2012:
In March 1964, Andrew Oldham and the band met Marianne Faithfull for the first time at a party. There was an instant attraction between Andre and Marianne, so she was asked if she could sing (no that that mattered) At a practice session a Lionel Bart song was considered for her first released, but Andrew asked if As Time Goes By could be worked upon. The original track features Jim Sullivan on guitar, Mick Jagger on vocals and Eric Ford on bass.
