The Rolling Stones Rock Baton Rouge – June 1, 1975
June 1, 1975, wasn’t just any night—it was the kickoff of The Rolling Stones’ legendary Tour of the Americas and the first official show with Ronnie Wood as a full-on Stone! The place? Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The crowd? Wild and ready. And the band? On fire. The Stones actually played two shows that day at the LSU Assembly Center, and fans couldn’t believe their luck.
Ronnie’s Birthday Bash and Debut Gig
To make it even more iconic, June 1st also happened to be Ronnie Wood’s 28th birthday! Talk about a killer way to join the band—debut gig with The Stones and a birthday party rolled into one. Ronnie fit right in from the start, jamming alongside Keith like they’d been doing it forever. From Honky Tonk Women to Fingerprint File and lots more, the energy was off the charts. That night in Baton Rouge marked a whole new era for the Stones—and Ronnie’s still going strong today. What a way to make an entrance!
