REDLANDS ANYBODY?

Keith Richards’ infamous country retreat, Redlands, has a history almost as wild as the man himself. He bought the Sussex estate in 1966, probably thinking it would be a quiet getaway. But let’s be real—nothing about Keith’s life was ever “quiet.” Instead of peaceful countryside strolls, Redlands became ground zero for some of the most legendary parties of the era.

Of course, no story about Redlands is complete without mentioning that 1967 drug bust. The police, tipped off by an anonymous source (cough, the press, cough), raided the place, probably expecting to find a full-scale narcotics operation. What they actually walked into was Keith, Mick Jagger, Marianne Faithfull, and a handful of friends, just… vibing. The most scandalous thing they found? A supposedly naked Marianne wrapped in a fur rug. Oh, and some “substances,” which led to arrests, trials, and a media frenzy that only cemented the Stones’ bad-boy image.

Despite all the drama, Redlands remained Keith’s sanctuary. Over the years, it evolved from a rock ‘n’ roll party hub into something a little more mellow—though with Keith, you never know. He’s lived there for decades, proving that while hotels and tour buses come and go, a rock star’s country manor is forever.

So, was Redlands just a house? Nope. It was (and still is) a symbol of Keith Richards’ unapologetic way of life—part rebel hideaway, part rock history, and 100% Keith.
