The Rolling Stones made history in Lima, Peru, on March 6, 2016, when they played their first-ever concert in the country as part of the América Latina Olé tour. For Peruvian fans, it was a dream come true—after decades of waiting, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Charlie Watts finally brought their legendary live show to the Estadio Monumental. The energy that night was unreal, with over 50,000 fans singing along to every song, from classics like Jumpin’ Jack Flash and Paint It Black to the epic Gimme Shelter and (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.

Lima was just one of the many stops on the América Latina Olé tour, but the Peruvian crowd made sure to leave a lasting impression. Fans camped outside the stadium for days to get the best spots, and when showtime finally arrived, the atmosphere was electric. Mick Jagger even won over the crowd by speaking Spanish and throwing in some Peruvian slang, showing once again why he’s one of the greatest frontmen in rock history.

Beyond the concert itself, the Stones’ visit to Lima was a big deal for the country’s music scene. It proved that Peru was on the map for major rock acts and opened the door for more legendary bands to perform there. That unforgettable night in 2016 wasn’t just a concert—it was a celebration of rock ‘n’ roll history in Peru, proving once again that no matter where they go, the Rolling Stones always deliver a show for the ages.
