The Rolling Stones live in San Jose 2013
*Click for MORE ROLLING STONES FLASHBACK
By 2013 most bands celebrating 50 years would probably settle for nostalgia, a greatest-hits package, and maybe matching jackets nobody asked for. But The Rolling Stones turned their San Jose concert into a gloriously unpredictable rock circus instead. It’s All Over Now exploded with John Fogerty, while Bonnie Raitt added fiery soul to Let It Bleed. Then came Mick Taylor uring Satisfaction. The result was less a routine tour stop and more a reminder that classic rock survives by refusing to behave like a museum piece.

Surprise Guests Shine in San Jose: Stones Keep Fans Guessing, Legends Unite for a Night of Timeless Rock
At their San Jose stop on May 8 during the ’50 and Counting’ tour, The Rolling Stones proved that even after five decades they still have a few tricks up their sleeves. With a 22-song setlist packed with crowd-pleasing classics, the band delivered more than just hits — they brought a dose of spontaneity that thrilled fans old and new.
Before the night’s tenth song even played, two unexpected guests electrified the stage: Bonnie Raitt and John Fogerty. Fogerty was the first to appear, helping the Stones blaze through It’s All Over Now in a performance cheekily captured by an eager fan. Not long after, Raitt emerged with her signature slide guitar, adding soulful flair to Let It Bleed. While both artists have previously collaborated with the Stones, their appearances added fresh life to familiar tunes.
Later in the show, former bandmate Mick Taylor took the spotlight for a powerful rendition of I Can’t Get No Satisfaction — his first time performing it live since 1973. Despite reportedly slow ticket sales for the tour, the Stones continue to pack their concerts with surprises, making each night feel like a one-of-a-kind celebration of rock history.
