About Mick Jagger performing at The White House in 2012
(fromย abc.net.au)

Mick Jagger delivered some bluesy rock to the White House today at a celebration of music that brought out legends like BB King and Buddy Guy.
In a black suit and scarlet shirt, the Rolling Stones frontman, 68, rocked the east room of the US presidential mansion at the โ€œRed, White and Bluesโ€ event, singing I Canโ€™t Turn You Loose.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama smiled and were able to get their groove on without even leaving home. โ€œAs president some nights when you want to go out and just take a walk, clear your head, or jump into a car just to take a drive, you canโ€™t do it. Secret Service wonโ€™t let you. And thatโ€™s frustrating,โ€ Mr Obama said.

โ€œBut then there are other nights where BB King and Mick Jagger come over to your house to play for a concert. So I guess things even out a little bit,โ€ he joked. Jagger also performed Commit A Crime with fellow British rocker Jeff Beck.

Mr Obama added that the blues remained a popular and powerful genre.
โ€œThis music speaks to something universal. No one goes through life without both joy and pain, triumph and sorrow โ€“ the blues gets all of that, sometimes with just a lyric or just one note,โ€ he said.
โ€œAs we celebrate black history month, the blues reminds us that weโ€™ve been through tougher times before.โ€
