The Rolling Stones in the press: “London’s Answer – Rolling Stones”

The Rolling Stones aren’t just a band—they’re a cultural force. From London to Manchester and beyond, the fivesome from Richmond have electrified audiences with hits like Come On and I Wanna Be Your Man, creating a fan frenzy wherever they play. Their influence goes beyond music: new fashion, dance crazes, and a stage presence that leaves crowds hysterical have become part of the Stones’ signature. Even The Beatles reportedly admire them. With TV, radio, films, and recordings fueling their unstoppable rise, The Rolling Stones have proven that true showbiz power isn’t a fluke—it’s a perfect storm of talent, style, and sheer charisma.

The saying goes in show biz that whatever the North brings out, London can always produce an artiste or artistes as good, if not better. Certainly the group who have made sure of this phrase are London’s Rolling Stones, who have clicked big here and lotsa other places with their Come On and who now have another smash seller I Wanna Be Your Man penned by . . . . . . I’ll leave you to fill in the spaces, ’cause it’s a certainty that everyone else will have told you anyway! The power of The Rolling Stones has still not been fully realised by most people.
Not only have this out of way group created new styles in dress and clothing, but they have many, many followers who have even started their own exciting dance to the even more pulsating exciting music that the fivesome beat out merrily!
On the recent Everly Brothers’ tour, the boys smashed hit after hit number at the audience, who went hysterical when I popped down to see the show. I don’t mean they went hysterical because I was there, but because The Rolling Stones literally made them go frantic as they ripped the stage apart with the more commercial rhythm and blues numbers that are dominating the scene at the moment!
I have yet to find someone who doesn’t like the sound the boys kick up on-stage. Even The Beatles are reputed to be firm admirers of the five lads from Richmond who have starred in just about every medium now! Not for them the pleasure of being able to take a few minutes in the “local” — now fans of The Rolling Stones have been known to travel from London to Manchester for a half hour set by the boys! That’s fan worship of the highest order! Filmwise, I hear production troubles are holding up their debut, but it is also widely rumoured that they have been offered a much, much bigger film contract to follow the one they already have!
Discwise, they are all set to take the charts to pieces, for the boys believe in recording as often as they can. Certainly, with TV, radio, films, and discs, the boys have carved themselves a big solid future in less time than it takes to tell. Fluke? Definitely not. What other group can boast of setting such a style and trend without being in the Hit Parade? They know the future in show biz is quite difficult, I won’t say very because of their enormous popularity, but they have no fears of the next five or ten years. Like everything with The Rolling Stones, after the big bustle of a hit parade groups’ day, when it comes to relaxing, they are experts.
