In 1995, The Rolling Stones made history by playing their first-ever shows in Latin America, kicking things off with a legendary stop in Mexico, and Keith did an interview fro Mexican Tv in advance. As part of their Voodoo Lounge Tour, the band performed four electrifying nights at the Foro Sol in Mexico City on January 14, 16, 17, and 18. These concerts marked a major milestone, as the Stones had never toured Latin America before, despite their massive fan base in the region.

The excitement was off the charts. Fans had waited decades to see Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Charlie Watts rock a Mexican stage, and they did not disappoint. The setlists were packed with classics like Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Satisfaction, and Brown Sugar, along with tracks from their then-new Voodoo Lounge album. The energy in the crowd was electric, proving that Latin America was more than ready for the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band.

One of the highlights of these shows was the overwhelming passion of the Mexican fans. The audience sang along to every word, danced non-stop, and showed the Stones just how much they had been missed. Jagger, always the showman, engaged with the crowd in Spanish, making the connection even stronger.

These concerts not only set the stage for future tours in Latin America but also cemented Mexico as a key stop for the band. The Voodoo Lounge Tour proved that the Rolling Stones’ music transcended borders, cultures, and languages. It was the beginning of a long and special relationship between the Stones and their Latin American fans—one that continues to this day.
