Keith was nearly knocked out mid-song during the Stones’ second show that night at the 3,800-seat Memorial Auditorium. About 20 minutes in, a sudden “blue lightning bolt” struck him just as he moved in for backing vocals on The Last Time, dropping him instantly. The band wrapped the set roughly 15 minutes early while he was rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, he bounced back quickly and was back onstage in San Jose the very next day.
