Today in Rolling Stones history: December 22

*Click for DAILY ROLLING STONES CHRONOLOGY 1962-present

*December 22 has always felt like a quiet pocket in the Rolling Stones’ long, noisy calendar. No landmark releases, no legendary gigs, no courtroom drama or last-minute rescues—just an unusual pause. Through the years, this date passes without the usual churn of tours, scandals, or studio breakthroughs. For a band defined by motion and excess, December 22 stands out precisely because almost nothing happens, a rare still frame in an otherwise relentless, restless history.

1962: Sandover Hall, Richmond, England (2 shows), with Ricky Fenson on bass and maybe Steve Harris on drums

Dec. 22, 1963: St. Mary’s Hall, Putney, London, England
