Today in Rolling Stones history: March 4
*Click for DAILY ROLLING STONES CHRONOLOGY 1962-present
March 4 isn’t just another date in The Rolling Stones history — it’s a snapshot of their restless evolution. In 1967, Ruby Tuesday climbs to No.1 in the U.S. after Let’s Spend the Night Together faces radio bans, proving controversy could fuel chart glory. That same day, the band’s offstage saga stretches from Toulouse to Tangier, blending rock myth with bohemian escape. A decade later, the raw 1977 El Mocambo gig in Toronto resets their live reputation. Fast forward to global stages in Brisbane, Las Vegas, and Tokyo, and March 4 keeps echoing. From Highwire politics to stadium anthems, this date captures the Stones in constant motion.
