On March 9, 2014, The Rolling Stones finally made it to China, rocking Macau’s Cotai Arena for the first time ever. It was a historic moment—after decades of restrictions and missed chances, Chinese fans finally got to see the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band live. And the Stones didn’t disappoint.
Mick Jagger, always the showman, greeted the crowd in Mandarin, instantly winning them over. The setlist was packed with classics, from Jumpin’ Jack Flash and Honky Tonk Women to Gimme Shelter and Sympathy for the Devil. Fans even got to vote for a special song, and Street Fighting Man made the cut.
While Beijing and Shanghai concerts had been canceled in the past, Macau—a special administrative region—became the perfect spot for this long-awaited show. The Cotai Arena was electric, with Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood trading killer riffs and Charlie Watts holding it all together with his steady beat. The energy was undeniable, and the band proved once again why they’ve ruled rock ‘n’ roll for over half a century.
This wasn’t just another gig on the 14 On Fire tour—it was a milestone. The Rolling Stones had finally played China, and they did it in style. For those lucky enough to be there, it was a night they’d never forget.
