The Rolling Stones Return to Nashville: Rock Meets Music City

After a 13-year break, The Rolling Stones finally rocked Nashville again — this time at LP Field, the Titans’ home turf. Despite being in the heart of country music, Mick Jagger made it clear early on that the Stones weren’t about to change their game. “We’re not going to play it up with big hats or pedal steel guitars… just our normal show,” he told the crowd, throwing in a playful nod to Tennessee football and quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Though it was only their fifth visit to Nashville in over 50 years, the band showed zero signs of slowing down. Jagger joked about how Nashville was “a small village” when they first came through in ’65, just a 22-year-old at the time. Fast forward half a century, and the band — often teased as “old” — still brought serious firepower. The crowd packed the stadium, from front row to the nosebleeds, all sweating through the humid heat as Keith Richards tore into the opening riff of Jumpin’ Jack Flash.

Gritty Rock and a Touch of Country Flair

The setlist was classic Stones energy, building up to an explosive finale with hits. The Belmont University Chorale added soulful depth on You Can’t Always Get What You Want, while Richards showed his country side, enjoying Jagger’s spot-on take of their twangy 1978 track Far Away Eyes. Ronnie Wood joined on pedal steel guitar, with Jagger donning a big hat to deliver the tune with a wink.

Opening act Brad Paisley warmed up the crowd with his rock-infused country style. Later Paisley even joined the Stones on Dead Flowers, blending genres in a rare Nashville moment. This wasn’t just a concert; it was the biggest rock show LP Field has ever hosted — a bold clash of rock ‘n’ roll spirit and Music City heart.
