Mick Jagger’s false quote about a future Rolling Stones show in Israel

According to Reuters agency, “A quote attributed to rockstar Mick Jagger about the Rolling Stones giving a concert in Israel is from a spoof article but is circulating online as if it was a genuine statement made since the start of the Israel-Hamas war.”
The fake post started circulating in early December, suggesting Jagger recently said the band would be performing in Israel soon, as well as a graphic picturing him alongside a piece of text reading: “Thank you. We’ve been slammed and smacked a lot by the anti-Israel side; all I can say is: anything worth doing is worth overdoing, so we decided to add a concert in Israel”
I was later confirmed by a Rolling Stones representative that’s it’s a false quote.

Reuters informed that that the quote seems to have surfaced from a spoof article dated February 2013 with the headline: “Defying Boycotts, Jagger, Stones, to Honor Israel’s 65th Birthday”.
The Stones have only visited Israel one time, when they performed in Tel Aviv in 2014 during their 14 On Fire tour.
From The Times of Israel (2014)
‘Hag Shavuot Sameah [Happy Shavuot Holiday], Israel!” shouted Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger in Tel Aviv Wednesday night, as the legendary British rock group set off its much-anticipated, first-ever gig in Israel. The Stones had pushed back the start time of their show to enable religiously observant concert goers, who were marking the Shavuot holiday, to attend.
Jagger ended the show with “layla tov [good night]” and “shalom”, showing off more Hebrew to a cheering crowd of some 50,000 Israelis, who made their way to Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv Wednesday night to watch the band play.
