Along the way, Bob Dylan’s Shot Of Love adds an unexpected connection, with Ronnie Wood appearing on Heart of Mine as Dylan pushed his sound in a tougher direction. August 12, 1981: Release of Bob Dylan’s LP Shot Of Love, with Ronnie as guest on one track: Heart of Mine
Shot of Love is widely regarded as the final chapter of Bob Dylan’s “born-again” Christian trilogy, following Slow Train Coming and Saved. Released in 1981, it marked a transition toward secular songwriting, combining religious imagery with themes of love and mortality while embracing a rawer, more aggressive rock and R&B sound.
