August 18, 1969: Mick gets accidentally shot in the hand while filming Ned Kelly in Australia. The film had to go through lots of issues: Marianne Faithfull (Mick’s girlfriend at the time, as we know) had gone to Australia to play the lead female role in the movie (Maggie, Ned’s sister), but their relationship was already coming to and end, and Marianne had an overdose of sleeping tablets soon after her arrival, ending in her being hospitalised in a coma, and pulling out of the film.
