March 7 has been a pivotal date in Rolling Stones history, capturing their raw energy, rebellious spirit, and global reach. From early gigs at London’s Manor House Pub in 1963 to wild shows at Morecambe in 1964, the band ignited fans with chaotic, blues-fueled rock ‘n’ roll. Manchester in 1965 brought near-riots—and memorable fan stories—while decades later, Washington, DC, in 1999 showcased the Stones’ enduring power on massive stages. Their 2003 press conference in Tokyo highlighted the band’s international influence. March 7 reflects the Stones’ journey from scrappy British upstarts to worldwide rock icons, always unpredictable and electrifying.

March 7, 1964: Winter Gardens, Morecambe, England (2 shows)
In 1964 the Rolling Stones were on fire, and their tour across England that year proved it. Fresh off the success of their debut album The Rolling Stones they hit the road, playing wild, energetic shows that sent fans into a frenzy. Unlike other polished acts touring at the same time, the Stones brought raw, bluesy rock ‘n’ roll that felt dangerous—and that’s exactly why people loved them.
The tour saw them performing in theaters and ballrooms packed with screaming fans, often causing near-riots. Hits like Not Fade Away and I Wanna Be Your Man fueled the chaos, and Mick Jagger’s swagger only made the crowds wilder. The press didn’t always approve, calling them scruffy and rebellious, but that only added to their appeal. By the end of the year, the Stones had cemented themselves as Britain’s most exciting new band. Their 1964 tour wasn’t just a series of concerts—it was the beginning of a real rock revolution.

March 7, 1965: Palace Theatre, Manchester, England (2 shows)
During one of these shows a female fan fell from the circle while the Stones were playing. The crowd below broke her fall and the girl escaped serious injury just breaking a few teeth.
