The album marked a significant addition to their growing discography. It compiled many of their biggest hits up to that point. It showcased the Stones’ chart-topping singles and iconic sound, blending rock, blues, and R&B influences that were already defining their reputation. The UK release featured a unique album cover with a color photo of the band, setting it apart from the US version, which had been released earlier in the year with a different cover design and track listing. Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) became a fan essential, celebrating the Stones’ success and providing a retrospective of their music during their rise to fame in the early to mid-1960s. The album is still remembered as a landmark compilation, offering a snapshot of the band’s early years and their impact on the rock music scene.
