December 18, 1943: Keith Richards, born on this day to Doris and Herbert Richards (at Livingstone Hospital, in Dartford, Kent, England) aka ‘The Human Riff’, guitarist, singer, songwriter and member of some band called The Rolling Stones.

December 18, 1943: Born on this day, Robert Henry ‘Bobby’ Keys (greatest rock’n’roll sax player ever) at Lubbock Army Airfield near Slaton, Texas. Played/recorded with The Rolling Stones (band/solo), Chuck Berry, B.B. King, Carly Simon, Delaney & Bonnie and Friends, John Lennon, George Harrison, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Harry Nilsson, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Donovan, Barbra Streisand, Dr. John, Warren Zevon, Humble Pie, Marvin Gaye, Jim Carroll, etc. until his death on December 2, 2014.

December 18, 1963: Corn Exchange, Bristol, England
December 18, 1966: On the day of Keith’s 23rd birthday, Tara Browne, heir to the Guinness fortune (and Brian Jones’ closest friend, which threw Brian into an irreconcilable depression), was killed when driving at high speed in his car, which collided with a parked lorry in South Kensington, London. Tara’s death was immortalized in the Beatles song A Day In The Life after John Lennon read a report on the coroner’s verdict into Browne’s death. Keith and Anita’s third child Tara Jo Jo Gunne (born in Switzerland on March 26, 1976), was named after him, but he died when he was only 10 weeks old.
