February 17 isn’t just another date on the calendar — it’s a time capsule in Rolling Stones history. On Feb. 17, 1966, The Rolling Stones stormed Australian TV’s Bandstand Special, firing through Satisfaction and 19th Nervous Breakdown with youthful swagger. Seven years later, they shook Melbourne’s Kooyong Tennis Courts during the explosive 1973 Australasian Tour. By 1990, they were conquering the Tokyo Dome, and in 1999, igniting the Fargodome in North Dakota. Across decades and continents, February 17 traces the band’s evolution from rebellious upstarts to global rock royalty — a single date that mirrors their unstoppable rise.

The Australasian Winter Tour 1973 saw The Stones return to Australia and New Zealand for a series of explosive performances. With Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Mick Taylor, Bill Wyman, and Charlie Watts at their peak, the band delivered high-energy sets. The tour, which ran from January to February, was marked by wild crowds, intense media attention, and some controversy—including Jagger’s run-in with Japanese immigration authorities, a country that would only have them playing there for the first time 17 years latyer. Despite the challenges, the Stones cemented their rock ‘n’ roll dominance, leaving audiences in awe with their electrifying stage presence. This tour remains a legendary chapter in Stones history, showcasing their raw power and ability to captivate fans worldwide
