July 29, 1968: Release of the Jeff Beck Group’s LP Truth, with Ronnie as band member
Ronnie was a key member of the Jeff Beck Group from 1967 to 1969, playing bass guitar rather than his usual role as guitarist. Alongside Jeff Beck and vocalist Rod Stewart, Wood helped shape the band’s blues-rock sound, which influenced the emerging hard rock scene. The group’s albums Truth (1968) and Beck-Ola (1969) showcased his versatility and laid the groundwork for his future success with Faces and The Rolling Stones.
