July 31, 1967: ‘World In Action’ (Granada, UK TV): Mick Jagger takes part in a televised discussion with Lord Stow Hill, William Rees-Mogg, John Robinson (Bishop of Woolwich) and Father Thomas Corbishley, debating youth culture, the generation gap, morality, religion, and the changing values of British society in the wake of the Rolling Stones’ controversial drug convictions.

July 31, 1973: A sudden fire breaks out at Redlands, Keith Richards’ Sussex home, sending thick smoke through the house. Keith, his partner Anita Pallenberg and their young children quickly evacuate the property as the blaze spreads, escaping safely before firefighters bring the fire under control.
Keith: “I’ve had two or three houses burn down. Redlands burned down once – the roof went with the whole top floor. It was a terrible thing to happen to such a beautiful place. Parts of it date back to the 12th century.”
