Today in Rolling Stones history: June 15
*Click for DAILY ROLLING STONES CHRONOLOGY 1962-present
June 15 proves that The Rolling Stones never treated history as a straight line. On this date alone, the band bounced from sweaty club gigs and double-header theater shows to stadium spectacles spanning six decades. Somewhere in the middle, Bill Wyman quietly made Stones history with Monkey Grip Glue, the first single from the first solo album released by a Rolling Stones member. Not bad for the band’s famously low-key bassist. From Buffalo in 1975 to Cleveland in 2024, this day reads like a crash course in reinvention, reminding us that the Stones never really repeated themselves—they just found louder ways to keep rolling.
