Rolling Stones chronology – June 4

1964: While in the USA, the Stones visit RCA Recording Studios in Los Angeles and meet arranger Jack Nitzsche, who would later work with the band many times.
Jack Nitzsche, on meeting the Stones: “The first time I met the Stones was when they walked into RCA Studios, and the session just stopped because no one had ever seen anyone who looked like that…”


June 4-10, 1968: The Stones do recording sessions for future album Beggars Banquet at Olympic Sound Studios, London, recording Sympathy for the Devil among other tracks, and at the same time getting filmed by French film director Jean-Luc Godard for his One Plus One movie.

1975: The Stones hold a photo shoot at the Alamo, San Antonio, Texas.



1975: Release of LESLIE WEST‘s LP ‘The Great Fatsby’, with Mick as guest (on guitar) on one track: ‘High Roller’

1976: Keith and Anita Pallenberg’s two-and-a-half month old baby, Tara (named after Tara Browne, heir to the Guinness fortune and Brian’s closest friend, whose accidental driving death was immortalized in the Beatles song “Day in the Life”) dies of respiratory failure in Switzerland.
Anita, losing Tara: “Keith was very calm and very protective and very normal and loving. He just said, Forget it. And everybody else told me the same thing. They all said, Forget it. Look after your other children. I am sure that the drugs had something to do with it. And I always felt very, very bad about the whole thing.”
