*Eight songs into the show, the Stones had to leave the stage after the local police received a bomb threat targeting the stage area. After a 45-minute police swept of the area, skipping Keith’s set, the band completed the show.

As Mick Jagger reminded the roaring Charlottesville audience during the first encore Thursday night, you can’t always get what you want. Those hoping for a pure, unfiltered Rolling Stones experience found plenty to love at the University of Virginia’s Scott Stadium—but the night wasn’t without its hiccups. A bomb threat halted the show for nearly an hour, right when the Stones’ rock ‘n’ roll engine was firing up. When Jagger finally returned, joking, “The police said we had to do it, so we did it,” the band quickly regained momentum—until a light, persistent drizzle decided to join the performance from above.
