Today in Rolling Stones history: July 16
*Click for DAILY ROLLING STONES CHRONOLOGY 1962-present
Some dates in Rolling Stones history refuse to stick to just one headline, and July 16 is a perfect example. One day you’re looking at back-to-back concerts across decades, and the next you’re watching Keith Richards trade songs with Jerry Lee Lewis on television because, apparently, normal scheduling wasn’t an option. From sweaty theaters in 1965 to massive stadiums spanning Europe and America, the band kept reinventing the live experience without ever slowing down. If you’ve ever wondered how the Stones could make every tour feel like a different chapter while still sounding unmistakably themselves, this date offers plenty of evidence.
